On Wednesday March 14th, the Oil and Gas community came together to put on the Murray Rayner Fundraising Extravaganza. Murray Rayner has been a respected and valued member of the Oil Industry for 31 years. His fun disposition, willingness to help, kindness and generosity have touched so many. This was very prevalent in the turn out. 550+ people joined forces that night to bid on over 100 auction items to help Murray in his battle against myxoid liposarcoma.
It is with the sense of community, friendship and devotion that the Oil Patch is so well known for that the night was able to be such a roaring success. An incredible $261,490 was raised. March 14th, 2012 will forever be remembered as the night the Alberta Oil Patch came together in support of one of their own. It would not have been possible without the help of the donors, volunteers, friends, family members and attendees. With the support of the community behind him we wish Murray the best of luck as he continues his fight.
